How long should I allow for check-in at Rome Fiumichino returning to US? I've heard 4 hours...is that real?
3 hours should be okay. The big issue is possible nasty traffic getting to FCO. It took us 75 minutes to get into town when we got there due to traffic but only 35 minutes coming back because there was little traffic.
I'd agree with the 3 hours, but that means a real 3 hours; you're standing in the check-in line 3 hours prior to takeoff, not just somewhere at the airport.
Wow...I'm really glad I asked! Thanks to both of you. We'll plan to leave at least 3 hours standing-in-line time.
Depends somewhat on time of departure. For my 7:50 AM flight, 2 hours was plenty. If it were mid morning or early afternoon, I'd figure closer to 3.
I am just curious. What about if you're flying from Rome to Paris, is the check-in time as long?
Vueling says you can check-in online so your airport time is less.
