cheap tickets from Venice to Florence

Hi,

I am trying to book tickets from Venice to Florence for 2 adults in 2nd class in trenitalia.com and it comes to 84 euros. Is there any other website in which I can book train tickets cheaper from Venice to Florence ? I am also planning to book tickets within Italy from Florence to Naples, Naples to Sorrento and Salerno to Rome.

First, there is no need to buy tickets online. Purchase tickets at the station. The kiosks are very easy to use. The price you are looking at is for the eurostar. If you travel on a slower train, like the IC it will be cheaper. I just checked the website and the IC is half the cost of the eurostar, but you lose an hour. If it were me, I would take the IC.

For Florence to Naples I would take the eurostar because it is about 3 hours faster than the IC. That is worth paying an extra 30 euro for. From Naples to Sorrento you will have to take a commuter train called the circumvesuviana. A ticket is a few euros and the ride is about one hour.
