Cheap Flight from LAX to Amsterdam

Nov 17-25, LAX to AMS, RT, non-stop, on KLM. Booked through Orbitz. $463 per person. One carry-on, one checked baggage included for each passenger.

We were going to Amsterdam near the end of our 45-day trip this summer. Now we'll be spending more time in Germany and Luxembourg, and instead taking in Amsterdam in the fall.

We usually travel during the summer, since we're off work then. This past November we were in London for a week and loved how less congested places were. Glad we were able to take advantage of the above deal. Hope this posting helps someone else save some dough, and/or maybe take an extra trip.

Considering the long flight and time change...that's a short trip. I'd be wiped out when I got there and worse after I got home.

I don't do short trips, either, but I could be tempted by that price for Thanksgiving week if I were still working. Six full days in Europe and only 3 or 4 days of vacation time burned. Not bad for us Americans.

Last Nov we went to London for a week. We had plenty of energy, loved having lesser crowds, and had a day to recoup before going back to work. Looking forward to giving it another go.

@ Tim...Bravo on getting this flight and price! If it's only a week, after landing in Amsterdam, I'd consider flying a discount carrier to Vienna or Berlin, or spend the whole week in France...a lot of possibilities for a week's trip. I flew out of LAX once to Europe. It was to Paris CDG, non-stop..

Check out That Dam Guide when you're in Amsterdam. Their walking tours are great, and their website is also a treasure-trove of great recommendations of things to see and do. Great for trip planning!

Flying from the West Coast adds 4 hours to the flight and 3 more hours of time change compared to flying out of N.Y. I'd need a long week to recover from a long weekend trip. Of course I wouldn't go without the torn out sections of my guidebook.

@ Tim....I did an extended week-end trip to Europe once, (all the right factors, time, weather, price, hotel, etc) in Jan '07. It was to Paris, which meant flying out of SFO non-stop to Paris CDG dep at 1530 Thurs, landed there on Fri ca. 11am (All I know it was prior to noon), Then we took the RER "B" to Paris Nord to transfer to the correct Metro station. We had all day Friday, Friday evening, Sat. Sunday, ie spent the entire time in Paris, and then after normal breakfast on Monday morning, took the taxi to CDG to catch the flight back to SFO non-stop. Of course, I had to be back at work the following day. Would I do something similar again, yes if all the factors were super favourable as is in your case but I would stay a day or two longer.

Fred, if the price was crazy nuts cheap I would do that, though one or two more days would be a slam dunk.
