Heading to Ireland next week and will be renting a car. Have a question regarding charging electronic devices, phones, tablets, etc. while in the car.
In general. do the cars sold/rented in Europe have the same style power ports as their American counterparts, i.e. the old cigarette lighter style? Or do they have USB ports (since that is the standard for charging most devices nowadays)? Or do they have both?
Don't people use their American GPS devices in Europe? Don't they plug into the "cigarette lighter" power ports?
It depends on make and model. But USB ports are becoming more common but cigarette lighters are still common. I carry a cigarette lighter plug that has a USB port. About the size of your thumb so it is small and convenient. Covered both ways.
I do the same as Frank.
