Charging a Cell Phone

Is an adapter all I need to charge my cell phone while in Scotland?

Almost all phone/camera/IPod/computer chargers these days are dual voltage.

I strongly suspect that the chargers are all made in the same batches, and then they just stick on different printing and a different plug depending on the country or region the order is going to...

Assume so BUT check the voltage input on your charger. If it says something like, "Input: 120-240 VAC" you will be OK

Amanda,

As mentioned in a previous reply, you will need to check the "Input Voltage" rating of the Cell Phone Charger. If it states "100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz", then it will work fine in Europe. For use in Scotland you'll need the large UK style Plug Adaptor.

I'm assuming your Cell phone is with a network that will work in Europe (AT&T, T-Mobile)? Which network are you with? Also, the phone handset must be a quad-band model, equipped with the frequencies used in Europe (900/1800 MHz).

When you first arrive in Scotland, you may have to do a network search, but after that it should work fine.

Hope this answers your questions.

Cheers!
