Hi Mily:

One thing I did before my first trip to Europe was to go to a good travel store, REI here in Ca and another travel store, and asked what I might need. Yes, I got a lot of suggestions of things I did not need, but I also get some good basic things I have used on all five of my trips.

Since there were usually more than one version of something I was able to pick the things I best needed. Evan a few things I would not have thought of that were greatly appreciated.

Make sure you take extra batteries for your camera and memory cards. That one one battery will always be charged.

have a great trip.

The first thing you do is to look at your charger, the label on it will state the input voltage, it should read 220-240. If it does, which it probably will, then all you will need will be a plug adapter for Europe.

Where in Europe?

The plug adapter for the continent is an about 1 inch long block of plastic with two round pins on one end and slots for your American plug on the other.

The plug adapter for the British Isles is different.

According to the Olympus website, the LI-41C charger accepts 100-240V. All you would need is the plug adapter.

Mily,

In order to answer your question, some further information is needed.

Have a look at the Charger for your Camera (the part that connects to the outlet), specifically looking for the words Input Voltage. If you could post another note here on what it says, I can provide more specific information for you.

Cheers!

Mily,

It appears the Charger is designed for "world operation", so all you'll need to charge your Camera in Europe is an inexpensive Plug Adapter. As you're going to Spain, you'll need the Euro style which has two round pins.

I usually travel with at least two Plug Adapters for each area (the U.K. is different), in case I lose one or whatever. They're only about $5 each, so not a huge cost (actually, Rick's travel store has them "on sale" at the moment at $1 each - what a bargain!!!).

Happy travels!

This link may help provide some answers on power in Italy. We have multiple "U.S." electronics plugged in throughout our apartment including 2 laptops, a slingbox, two ipods, a Vonage router, 3 external hard drives (lots of pic's and movies), a battery charger, two cell phones, and a Garmin GPS....... These are all things we brought with us from the States so mastering Italian "electricity" was VERY important to us! Hope this helps.

Depending on how many photos you expect to take, you might want to get a second (or third) battery from Olympus or from a camera shop. I take a lot of pictures, and when I used an Olympus, I had three batteries that I took with me. They can be very expensive and difficult to find if you discover that you need another one once you are there. They aren't cheap, but it is well worth the price considering how much you pay for the trip, and that you don't want to lose the chance at a really great photo because the battery is dead.
