Chani in Tel Aviv

Has anyone heard from long-time poster Chani from Tel Aviv? I sent her a PM to be sure she is OK, but haven't heard anything.

I heard from her on Monday, I hope she’s okay with me sharing. I was concerned for her safety and well being, as I’m sure others are as well. She said her building has a good bomb shelter and with sufficient warning to reach it.

Hello to you all. A friend in Jerusalem posted this article yesterday which describes very well our existence for the past week.

I would post more about my own circumstances, but I didn't get much sleep last night. There was a missile attack at about 2.40 am, the 2nd in the Tel Aviv area in 24 hours. Everyone from the 11 flats in my building made our way to the basement shelter and the reinforced steel door was closed as the sirens were blaring. Hardly a minute passed before we heard booms, some strong enough to be felt, which were anti-missile shots fired. Within 20 minutes of the alert, the all-clear was announced on the transistor radio I bring down with me. It's our only link to the outside, there's no cell phone reception in the shelter.

If you'd like to know more or have questions for me, post here and I'll make a point of checking regularly. BTW CNN has had good coverage from their people on the ground here.

so glad that you are unharmed, dear Chani.

Thanks for the update. Get some sleep during the day of you can?

It can't be any fun at all - I feel for you.

We have friends in Haifa too - they are getting attacks too.

Chani, thank you for your update. You have been in my thoughts. I know you like to use this forum and our International Meeting as an escape and I didn’t want to bother you. I hope you can participate in the meeting on the 29th.

Chani, thanks for replying to my PM. I’ll follow your posts on this thread instead of sending PMs back and forth. Take care and stay safe!

There's a ceasefire, a fragile thing that we all hope will last. Thank you all for your good wishes, very much appreciated.

Nigel, I hope your friends in Haifa have got through this safe and sound.

Andrea, I'm so glad you posted. I will respond on your thread. I so much look forward to seeing everyone and traveling vicariously.

Many of us have been concerned about your safety.
I have dear friends in Tel Aviv and it’s been very difficult for them as well, of course.
I hope to see you at the meeting on the 29th.
