Janet514, welcome to the forum. We need more information to answer your question. Please clarify what you are asking.
I would not go to Europe with just one credit card. Things can happen to that one card.
American Express and Discover cards are much less accepted than Visa and MasterCard. I wouldn't count on using American Express or Discover.
Do you mean how to carry your cell phone?
I have mine in my zipped up purse unless I am taking pictures or using it to navigate. I use Apple Wallet extensively and also back up all my tickets by doing a screenshot and putting them in my Notes app and an album in my Photos for each specific trip.
Some us a phone lanyard to attach their phone but a friend had her phone stolen out of the lanyard so I will just go with what works for me.
OR do you mean which international plan to use for cell phone coverage?
I take 3 credit cards and 2 debit cards. I've had a debit card not work so started taking a back up debit card even though I don't use much cash nowadays. I take the 3 CCs although they are all in my apple wallet in case something gets compromised. It also gives me an enormous credit limit over the 3 cards in case of some unforeseen obstacle.
janet514. Your question is vague. What are you asking? How to take or what to take? Please come back with a clearer question.

Amen! acraven is absolutely right. One of the best things the space programs have proven to be true is that redundancy works.
I definitely agree with the others about credit cards. It's always good to have a backup in case of problems with your credit card. I always travel with three CC plus two debit / ATM cards. I only keep one of each type of card accessible, and the others are stored in my money belt, and not used unless absolutely necessary.
It would be a big help if you could clarify what you mean by "best way to take a cell phone". For example, are you planning to use the phone frequently in Europe, which cell network are you with at home and what type of roaming plans do they offer?
