Cell Phone purchased in England

I have a friend that is willing to loan me her newly purchased cell phone from England. She said all I need is a new SIM card that I can purchase in London upon arrival. Can you please tell me where I would find the card to fit the phone and what the approximate cost would be for the card and the cost per minute for using the phone in England and Wales. I don't know what the brand of phone is. She mentioned the "orange" sign? Thanks for any information.

Orange is a cell phone company... like Verizon, Sprint, etc. here in the US.

You can go to any cellphone store in London and they'll sell you a sim chip. Since your friend didn't say if its an "unlocked" phone, you probably will need to get an "orange" sim.

Ask your friend to tell you the mobile company she used. The brand of the phone is not relivant.

Once you get the correct sim, you just add money.
Go to http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/sim/payg_sim to check out their "pay as you go" rate.
