I received a flight status up date and realized our layover at CDG (from Florence to US) is only 1 hour 20 minutes. Do we have to go through customs or security at CDG? Any chance we'll make our flight if we do? edit: why won't it let me type up date as one word?

This link should help you: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/guide-connection-flight/ If you're on a single ticket, and your bags are checked through to the US, you should have plenty of time. You won't have to retrieve them, and you'll already have your boarding pass for the second flight.

Based on my experience (coming from Rome to connect at CDG for the US), that was enough time. You won't go through customs, but will go through immigration/security to get to the US-bound flight terminal at CDG. We were in a very long line, but it moved fast. Are your flights all under the same itinerary? They wouldn't sell it to you as an itinerary if it wasn't enough time. Barring some unusual situation, you should make it.

Phew, thanks! Yes, they are under the same itinerary. I didn't think they would offer it if it wasn't enough time, but I purchased through Orbitz (and it's multiple carriers), not a direct airline, so I wasn't 100% sure.
