Does the quart bag have to be sandwich bag style--Ziploc, Glad, etc or can it be a sturdier quart size bag? I've seen several sold with travel accessories and it seems like they would last longer during your trip.
Thanks

As long as it's a clear plastic quart zip-top bag, the TSA won't care who manufactured it.
I usually use the regular quart size Ziploc food storage bag (or Ziploc freezer bag, whichever I have on hand). I've also seen Ziploc "travel" bags in the sample section of discount stores, but they are just regular freezer-bag weight. Be aware of the price -- those sold in the travel section are probably a lot more expensive than regular old bags.
Norm is correct. The TSA doesn't care who makes the bag as long as it's a 1-quart zip-lock type bag.
The airport at Phoenix was distributing free bags last time I went thru there, and they were not ziploc style, but had a piece of string to pull thru....kind of like sweat pants.
Are those OK? I would have thought NOT since they always say zip loc, but it was the airport giving them out, and they say Phoenix airport right on them.
??
I wouldn't think those would be OK, since everything I have read states "zipper-style" or something similar. I'm sure the brand doesn't matter, but I don't think a drawstring and a zipper are the same thing.
The one I'm talking about has a zipper--it's just made out of thicker, see through plastic.
I know what you're saying, but you'd probably find that the freezer zip-type bags are plenty strong enough and a lot cheaper than one from a travel accessories section. I've never had one split or anything during travel.
