My flight home tomorrow got cancelled. The airline rebooked me but here’s my problem. The original flight was at 6:10 am. The new flight is at 10:30. I got my Covid test at 8:00 this morning. Now that is earlier than 24 hours. It’s too late to get a new test now and I’ll need to leave for the airport too early to get another in the morning. Anyone else have this happen. Was it an issue? FYI I’m in Vienna.
Relax, the test does not have to be 24 hours before departure. It has to be no more than one day before departure. You're fine.
If your new flight is the same day you are fine.
The test requirement is not more than the day before, not 24 hrs
Just another reassurance that what Frank and Joe are telling you is correct. Your fine, and the test you have fulfills perfectly then U.S. requirement of "within the day prior to travel" (not within the 24 hours prior to travel).
Safe travels home today !
Julie, as you probably know by now, the Biden administration lifted the 24 hour Covid test at least for the next 90 days starting tomorrow. Of course, the CDC could reinstate it at any time.
The OP has been home for a week.
Frank, better late than never.
