I'm not concerned in the least about the merger, as I don't patronize either Timmy's or BK. The food in both places is mediocre at best, and I've never understood the almost religious fervour for Timmy's coffee which is inferior (IMO) compared to what I usually drink at home.
Ironically the only time when I might stop at either place is when I'm travelling. TH seems to have branches in most Canadian airports and BK seems to have a lot branches in Europe. If I happen to be close to one when I'm hungry, I'll stop there simply because it's an easy and convenient option.
Regarding the move of the BK head office to Canada, it's a business decision to maximize profit so not sure why that would be a concern. I chuckled a bit when I heard some of the comments on CNN, which headlines (paraphrased) like, "American restaurant moving out of country, will this change your dining habits". Other comments from the political side labelled BK as "unpatriotic". I have to wonder how many other large corporations have moved off-shore to reduce taxes, and yet very little notice was paid to them.
The whole thing is a big "non event" for me.
