My husband and I are meeting our daughter who is on study abroad in London. We plan to take the train through the Chunnel to Brussels and go on to Bruges and maybe to Amsterdam. We thought we might want to get off in Brussels for a few hours then jump back on the train to Bruge. Does anyone know if it's possible to leave your luggage in a locker in the airport? And if so, how long you can do that for? Many thanks.
I assume when you wrote "airport" you really meant "train station." If so, the Bruxelles-Midi station where the Eurostar from London will arrive has both staffed left-luggage facilities and self-service lockers.
The Brussels Midi station has lockers in 3 sizes and the largest of these cost Euro 3.50 for a calendar day.
Thanks everyone. I did mean the train station. We've been trying to decide the best way to travel to Brussels, Bruges and Amsterdam. Originally we thought we would take the chunnel train to Brussels and then on to Bruges. But apparently we would have to go back to Brussels to take a different kind of train to get to Amsterdam. The number one place my daughter would like to see is Bruges.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I've been told to fly into Amsterdam and then takes trains to Brussels and Bruges. We do have to return to London. Is it worth it to try to get to Amsterdam?
Thanks.
Rosemary....you don't have to go back to Brussels from Bruges to get to Amsterdam. There is at least one train/hour from Bruges to Amsterdam (sometimes 2) that takes about 3:45 with a transfer in Antwerp. Ticket price is about 44 Euro.
Thanks so much. I didn't know you could do that! That would make life much easier!
