I have a rail pass, and am trying to make seat reservations for several of the longer legs of the trip. For example, I added Madrid to Barcelona to my cart on RailEurope.com, and even selected the etickets if already in Europe, but the only way to receive them was a paper ticket by UPS for the additional fee of $18-$36. The print At Home eTicket was grayed out. Is this the only option for these? I sent Rail Europe an email about it, but still haven't heard back from them.
table,
Forget Rail Europe!
I haven't tried it, but you may have better luck by booking on www.captaintrain.com.
Lately, I was having a devil of a time trying to get e-tickets from Madrid to Seville and through a backdoor found that the Spanish system and raileurope are in a "tight embrace." My way around was to have the tickets sent to the company I rep in Parma and have them send the tickets to me. Sorry, it looks like it's a gotcha.
