I will be arriving in Southampton on a cruise ship. Can I get from there to London and then on to Paris with the Eurostar on the same day?
Hi Alston
Its very doable. My husband and I did this a few years ago. We hired a car to drive us to the station where Eurostar is located (cant think of it off the top of my head) although you can take the train into London from Southampton, we just didnt want to deal with sea legs & manuevering luggage. We allowed ourselves 4 hrs to get there. If your disembarking from QM2, do the early disembarkation, it makes a world of a difference!
Safe travels!
Amanda
Another way, which I would prefer, is to fly from Southampton airport to Paris (either CDG or Orly) on Flybe: http://www.flybe.com/
They offer a package where for a bit extra, you not only get an included checked bag, but also ticket flexibility. A friend of mine used this (she was flying to Amsterdam), and it worked very well. She booked a 2 PM-ish flight, but arrived early enough at the airport from her cruise to make an earlier one. Since she had paid for the flexible ticket, they just put her on the earlier flight at no extra charge.
Use the UK version of the Eurostar site and you can book a ticket from Southampton to Paris
