The TSA site says no gel shoe inserts. Can I take them if they fit in my 3-1-1 quart bag?

According to the TSA website (http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items) you can carry on gel insoles. Type it into the box in the "When I fly, can I bring my" section near the top of the page.
