Below is a link to a flash mob in a mall in Warsaw, Poland. It is a performance of "One Day More" from Les Misérables. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXgCrhIevwU Pretty cool. In Polish.
Well... that is a great way to spend a few minutes smiling:)
My favorite is the Sound of Music one from Antwerp (don't know the link).
the link is nice, but I think mass flash mobs have outlived their fad.
"...I think mass flash mobs have outlived their fad..." Thank you Debbie Downer. In related news, a couple of weeks ago tens of thousand of folks across the world participated in the annual No Pants Subway Ride: http://tinyurl.com/b9pnxbs
Michael-I didn't click on that. I was afraid it would be a picture of you, and I'd never be able to face your posts again. Please have some dignity!
My briefs hanging from the clothesline (thanks Google!): http://goo.gl/maps/S7RK0
Here's another good flash mob in Cologne from a few months ago: http://youtu.be/sTHXIzHPyqE
I didn't check out the subway riders but I love the Cologne scene. Thanks, Michael.
Love it! Thanks, Thomas.
See, this is where Karen and I differ. I clicked on the video because I thought we would see some pantless RS posters. Won't name names of course. The flash mobs are a bit of fun and I think the people involved in them have a good time in the planning and executing of them, and certainly those who are there when it happens have fun too. You can see all those smiling, laughing faces.
Thanks Michael... knew someone would know how to add those links...I just don't.
Not sure what I am doing wrong.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJyda7XKNZQ&feature=player_embedded This one is from Frankfurt in Dec. which I thought was kind of cute.
While technically not a flash mob, my favorite "public space" performance is from 2008 when the Zurich Opera company performed La Traviata mid-week during the evening rush-hour at the train station. The brilliance of it was they didn't use a stage. Instead they used the entire station and mingled amongst public. http://youtu.be/jC9-47rE-iQ http://youtu.be/OsyIuaVKnXw
Love all of them!!! Public spaces are best when they are truly alive and here there definitely are.
OK, I'll play too. My favorite flashmob scene is this one of "Putin on the Ritz" in Moscow, before the last election. You can see the Kremlin in the background: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNXd3wX_USc (I don't know how to do links either; ,aybe Michael can help?) But for sheer class I like the Zurich train station opera. Wow. That train station will never look the same to me.
To do YouTube links, there is a "share" button on the YouTube page which gives you a small link. Copy that link into the message board post by clicking that weird looking symbol on the editing bar on top of the box.
I love this! Thank you, Thomas :) It makes me want to see Les Mis again...but in Polish.
This one takes place at the Antwerp Central Station several years ago. Its the Sound Of Music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EYAUazL19#watcl
I don't know if this truly counts as a flash mob, it seems more like advertising for the musical performed way the Warsaw cast of the musical. But I love this song and love people singing in public, so I'm still pretty fond of it.
Michael... I know you said how to enter a link... but why is it that yours are the only ones I can click on and it goes to the site? The other ones I have to copy and paste???
In order to enter a "clickable" link in to a post you have to add (url)http://www.website.com (/url) before and after the address. But instead of parentheses use brackets.
@Michael... thanks..I'll have to try that.
