Can't take it...gimme a 'warm' suggestion please...

I can't take all the snow in Boston anymore. I need a daydream (or hopefully reality) break here. Where should I go that's warm and toasty? Croatia? Greece? Southern Italy?

Greece and southern Italy are, in the winter, not typically what most would call "warm and toasty" destinations. Maybe the Caribbean, it's closer to Boston than Hawaii.

Just don't go to Cypress. It sounds like it's over run with tourists fleeing Egypt. Oddly enough there are people who are still going to Sharm El Shek on holiday this week. Pam

I second the Caribbean. Or Australia or New Zealand - it's summer down there.

Gretchen, For a quick "winter sun break", my choice would be Hawaii. I've spoken with people from your part of the world on my last visit to Hawaii, and it's not really a difficult flight (you'll probably have to change at SEA or other west coast airport). I'm getting to close to the "can't take it" point myself! The weather has been down to -15C at night over the last week or so, although it's warmed up somewhat and the sun is starting to break through today. For a look at our weather this week, click This Website. Cheers!

This cold weather in Texas, with predictions for more of the same, has me looking at Cancun and Cozumel resorts.

Jamaica! We went there over Christmas. I would go back tomorrow, if I could!

Brazil. We were there over Christmas and New Year. It was not just warm and toasty, it was hot! Or, of course, lots of other southern hemisphere locales.

Guatemala... warm, cheap, beautiful, exotic... especially Lake Atitilan and Antigua.

I've had to buy sweatshirts in Cozumel in November and last March in Jamaica had on long pants, longshirts, jackets and scarves due to chilly winds. Same on Carib. cruises, if the cold front is strong enough you will be affected. Go further south!

Please go to Buenos Aires!!! I was there not long ago and people really do Tango in the streets. It's summer there now.
The food there is the best! Just LOVE Buenos Aires!! Sorry I'm not suggesting Europe right now but my Buenos Aires trip is fresh on my mind since I was just there.

Wow, this must be a first for the Helpline!!I asked for a warm and toasty place to go and not one person said anything about Europe! You all must be as sick of this weather as I am! Thanks for the daydream break guys! Since you all ventured from 'the continent' I will too. Right now, I am picturing myself lounging on a chaise, gazing out over the turquoise blue from my beach on the Maldives. Ahhh...........

Fly to the Sarasota/Bradenton airport in Florida. Rent a car there, drive to Anna Maria Island. Soft white sand beaches, look at the waves roll in there at the Gulf of Mexico coast. The air temperature there is in the mid 70s this week. That is the favorite place for people from England to go to, on vacation, during the winter. My home is located near Anna Maria island. I like being here during the winter. During the summers I desire to go to Massachusetts, or Maine.
