Cameron Hewitt's "The Temporary European: Lessons and Confessions of a Professional Traveler" is on sale today in the Kindle format through Amazon for $1.99 plus tax, at least for U.S. based customers. I like his writing style and am looking forward to reading this book.
Thanks. Here's more information on the book - https://www.cameronhewitt.com/my-book
Thanks for the info! I had exactly enough digital amazon credit to get this book for free. I like Cameron's blogs and posts, too.
Thanks for this notice!
The Rick Steves Best of Istanbul Kindle Edition is also on sale on Amazon, $3.99 instead of $19.99. I bought it, just in time for my RS tours to Turkey. This will make it so much easier to decide which physical sections of the book I'll bring, knowing that I'll have the entire book on my tablet.
Thanks so much! Ordered the Kindle format. I too enjoy Cameron’s writing style. We’ve also enjoyed his travel classes at the RS Travel center over the years.
Thanks for this information.
It's interesting to read his views on the topic of foreign languages, which I am primarily focused on, and their connection to traveling by exposing myself to another point of view or philosophy in tackling languages. However, my views on foreign languages pertaining to traveling in Europe are basically different from his, ie, at variance with his. His views on the French language I don't share at all.
Oh no, looks like i missed the sale! Kindle version is $9.99 now.
I got the Hewitt book in hardcopy. It was very enjoyable. Especially interesting is his take on the Cinque Terre situation.
