C-pap Usage

Has anyone who uses a C-pap machine while traveling in Europe needed a extension cord? If so, did you have a problem using a normal light weight American cord?.

Thanks,

My husband brought a smaller lightweight cord when we were there last May. I think he only needed to use it once. I was told on this helpline that most hotels/b and bs could supply you with a cord if you needed one, but it didn't take much room in our luggage to store an extension cord. It also gave him piece of mind by bringing it along.

Hi Doris...Yes, I have needed to use an extension cord for my C-pap. I always take along a heavy duty household extension card about ten feet long. These are sold by Home Depot and Lowes. That said, there have only been a few times when I've had to use it. More often, I've had to displace lamp cords or clocks.

We often stay in historic type B&Bs or lodges. These places are where you will most often have difficulty locating a handy outlet. If you do take one, Rick's suggestion of using electrical take to connect it to an adapter is helpful.

My husband and I are a 2 c-pap couple, so we make a point of keeping a medium weight cord in our c-pap carrier - just in case. We used them this summer in our hotels in Florence and Rome, on our cruise ship and even here in hotels and the homes of friends. I know that "BC", I might have had difficulty finding an extra cord for visitors without digging into the Christmas decorations, so I just prefer to plan ahead. Have a wonderful trip!
