Which european city has the best prices of buying a cellphone that can be used the SIM cards of other EU nations? Hope for replies.
Clint, AFAIK, there is no particular city in Europe that has the best prices on Cell phones. The various European cell networks frequently have "specials", so handset prices can vary from one day to the next. If you're planning on using SIM's purchased in Europe, you could also look at buying a quad-band, unlocked GSM phone off E-Bay or other site. Are you interested in buying just a basic phone, or some type of Smartphone? Happy travels!
When I was in Germany I bought a simple cell phone. no bells and whistles. There is T-Punkt (T-Mobile) store almost on every corner like Starbucks or 7-11 etc. I paid like 50 Euros for the phone and then if I needed more minutes I just went into another store and bought some. I was able to make local call pretty much anywhere I traveled within the EU. I traveled to Italy, Switzerland, France etc. Had no issues.
IME, including call time, London and other towns/cities in the UK.
In my experience, the best prices are online as opposed to a brick and mortar store, also in Europe. As such I would buy one on line before going. Plenty of deals on Amazon.com, Everbuying.com, eBay etc. Also a phone purchased in Europe may be already set in the local language.
Make sure you buy an UNLOCKED GSM QUAD BAND
I may had to go to Germany to get that phone since I am going to leave for Europe in five days.
