Five years ago, but my husband and I loved the Hotel Gerloczy, and the staff was very friendly: http://www.gerloczy.hu/en/szobak.html Cafe downstairs where you are given an allowance for breakfast every day.
Nice rooms with good a/c! (It was 90 degrees and very humid when we were there... LOVE the city, though!)

Consider Hotel Victoria. All of their 4 star rooms overlook the Danube and the Parliment building. Website is www.victoria.hu.
