Budapest cafe

Alas, I only have one day in Budapest. I will be seeing some of the main historical sights, but like to balance it out with a good people watching cafe. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Gerbeaud Cafe on Vorosmarty Ter (square) is a famous Budapest institution. I didn't know that at the time I was there, I just thought it was a cool, classic old European cafe:) But there are lots of picturesque squares and boulevards with cafes that are great for people watching and soaking in the atmosphere. I like the Castle Hill area though I don't remember any particular cafe there. Budapest is amazing, have fun! http://www.gerbeaud.hu/confectionary-coffees

another vote for Gerbeaud's - and in addition to the people-watching, I had possibly the best hot chocolate of my life there. Though I may have to go back to Paris to double-check a cup I had there once... Have a great time!
