Well, it’s been nearly 18 years for me, back when lots of feral dogs roamed the streets. I hope that part has changed. Back then, we used a Lonely Planet guidebook, and there wasn’t any Rick Steves guidebook yet. Current editions of those two would provide you info and recommendations.

As to the feral dogs, they were rounded up 10 years ago and killed. We were told that the dogs had attacked a child. There are very few dogs and not many cats in Bucharest. I'm not in favor of feral dogs or cats so I thought it a good thing.

I remember the dogs! They were freeking everywhere. Saw a few cats the last trip, that's about it.
