Bucharest communism tour

There was a link to a guided communism tour in Bucharest in a post on here recently but I haven't had any luck in finding it again, could someone kindly assist please?

It's going to be me and my 13 year old son who has an interest in all things Cold War, Eastern Europe and communism. It needn't be child focused but too much walking might send him into a whinge.

What is a "whinge"?

Most of the tours do involve a fair bit of walking. We always prep for our trips by upping our walking to the point where we do a couple miles every day. Going to Europe, for us, means walking around. You might want to get him out with you, which at 13 would be pretty amazing I know.

I am guessing that "whinge" is a typo for "whine".

Not a typo but yes, another word for whine.

Dictionary definition:

complain persistently and in a peevish or irritating way.
"stop whingeing and get on with it!"

Thanks for the suggestions however none of them reference the tour that I was looking for. I'll keep on having a dig around.

Thanks for reporting back. I somehow missed the original reference to that tour, and it's something I'd definitely be interested in the next time I get to Romania.

JC, the tour looks like something I'd like to go on if I ever make it to Bucharest. Also, you might want to visit the former Royal Palace (now housing the National Museum of Art I believe) as that is where King Michael arrested Rumanian dictator Ion Antonescu, in 1944, and that in turn got the ball rolling for the Communist takeover of Rumania.

Thank you for the suggestion Rob. I'm not sure of the precise details of the tour so it might be possible that it takes in the palace, it certainly sounds like a place worthy of inclusion in a tour covering the birth of communism in Romania.
