We are flying into Paris for 1 week in May. We have already seen Paris so we are trying to decide whether to go to Brugges, Belgium and Amsterdam or go to Provence, France.
Either is a winner but wanted to add that you are more likely to get better weather in Provence that time of the year .
Either way you will be pleased. Provence is more country-like small, quaint, lots of villages to visit. Great food, open markets.
Amsterdam a big, somewhat gritty city but alot to see of worth and train to nearby towns wasily doen, Edan, Haarlem etc. Brugge is a delight a beautiful towm perserved it time. I loved it and could go back in a flash.
That time of year it would be a shame not to see some of the countryside. I'd go to Provence. But you will have a great trip whichever.
I would think they're 3 different types of places; think about what the draw was for each of them...you may get your answer. Or, flip a coin! So many places, not so much time...(sigh)
