Britain to leave Eurail from 1 Jan 2020

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49263781

Britain is going to leave the Eurail/InterRail scheme on 31st of December 2019. It has nothing to do with Brexit, it's a decision made by the British rail companies independently.

Holders of InterRail or Eurail passes will still be able to travel to and from London on Eurostar - but not beyond St. Pancras station anymore.

The British railway companies have only been accepting Eurail passes since the start of 2019. They have been accepting and selling Interrail passes for a long time. The "loss" will affect Europeans mostly.
Eurostar is an exception, it is neither a British nor a French railway company, as it does not serve domestic routes in either country.

And absolutely nothing to do with Brexit, this is a commercial dispute between the companies involved; and plenty of non-EU countries in both schemes.

Note: I said British and not UK, Northern Ireland Railways are not mentioned and are not part of the industry group involved, which is just for "Great Britain".

Quite ironic given so many UK trains are owned and run by Deutsche Bahn (Majority stakeholder the German Government),
Keolis (Majority shareholder SNCF - the French state owned railways) or Abellio (only shareholder, the Dutch Goverment)

I don't think a petition will do much here. It isn't "the UK leaving the Eurail/InterRail scheme", it is the British Railway companies ending a commercial agreement. Nothing to do with the government, a pure capitalist commercial decision.
