Is anyone familiar with the current rules for customs for bringing wine back to US? Does anyone know how many bottles of wine each passenger can bring back??

One liter per adult over 21 without paying duties, but beyond that, there is no actual limit for personal consumption. Obviously bringing back several cases will raise eyebrows, though!

Do be sure to check state laws, though, about regulations regarding bringing in alcohol.

The importation laws applicable in the state where you enter the U.S. also apply. For example, if you arrive in Philadelphia, the Customs agents will enforce the liquor restrictions for Pennsylvania (one gallon may be imported, just over five bottles), even if US Customs duty is paid for the amount in excess of the duty-free amount.
