What does that mean?
where did you see these...can you give us a sentence or link in how it was used..
Sounds like a translation issue.
This was part of our reservation:
Rate per night : €130
For this options the rate is all included:daily room cleaning, towels, sheet and breakfast self contained.
I think that it is a bad translation for "included"
Or it could mean that breakfast is on or within the property. On a couple of occasions we have had to go across the street or to a restaurant near by for the breakfast. Or a bad translation.
Just a thought I am wondering if it means "within your room". We stayed somewhere where we had an electric jug/kettle and breakfast was pre-packaged biscuits/crackers, croissants, and tea, coffee and chocolate sachets. We had what we wanted when we wanted, without having to "go to" breakfast.
maybe it means its not running around the lobby (if they serve fresh chicken!)... im sure it means "Included" or "self-service buffet". Its definatley a "lost in translation" issue.
What is the "native language" of that website. Maybe someone who knows that language can explain it. It surely isn't a mis-translation of German.
Susan, which hotel, what city and country is that? I checked babelfish and self-contained translated to German as "closed"... So breakfast is closed, no matter when you get there? ;-)?
Actually this is an apartment/room in someone's home in Venice (Ann Marie). It is one of two total. I'm just wondering if breakfast is included or if we are on our own. I wasn't really sure.
Susan,
This sounds like a "translation issue"? I suspect it means "breakfast included"?
In your last post you indicated the room was in someone's home. It's possible their English skills are a bit "limited" and perhaps they used a computer translator (which I've found don't always capture the "precise" meaning).
Cheers!
Babelfish translates "self contained" in Italian as "autonomo". Assuming that was the word they wanted to use, another English translation of autonomo is "independent". That sort of sounds like breakfast is on your own.
Susan when you get back from your trip can you please enlighten us as to what it meant?
thanks
