Cara Black's 12 book series on the adventures of Aimee Luc take place in 12 arrrondissements in Paris and are a different introduction to them.

Two other good books if you can get them are "Permanent Parisians ".... a book about all the folks in Pere L'Chaise cemetery and "Paris in a Basket... a coffee table book about all the outdoor markets of Paris with recipes. There are several small books available about the patisseries, quaint little shops , bistros etc.
