Does anyone have any experience with using iBooks versions of books on an iPod touch, compared with Kindle reader version of same book on iPod touch? I'm planning to bring the RS guidebook on the iPod, but am concerned about which might be the better user interface. (I'm new to the iPod and a technophobe.) I'll also be bring paper copies of Blue Guides, which are the guidebooks I use on a daily basis. I use the RS guides mostly for logistics/lodging/transit/etc. Thanks.
Sherry, I haven't used the iBooks version of Rick's Guidebooks, however I am using the Kindle version of several books on my iPod Touch. It works reasonably well, although it's a bit of a chore to get to a particular page (perhaps that will get better when I become more familiar with it?). Although the maps are split into four segments, I don't find that to be much of a problem. I tend to use the full size copy of the map and just scroll around. I doubt there would be much difference in functionality between the two platforms (except for perhaps colour). The small screen is going to be a limiting factor in both versions. Cheers!
I like the Kobo app for reading books. IMO it is the best of the 3. It has an integrated store, that frequently has coupons. Plus a large selection of books.
The apps are all free and all have free books, I would recommend downloading them and a free book and see which one you like the best.
