I'm thinking the interrail 7-day pass will be best for me for my upcoming trip in November (7 cities in 20 days).
for at least one leg of this trip i may be travelling with a companion who won't have a pass. Does anyone know if we can d o the booking for both of us at the same time?

Where are you travelling to?
Generally: For Germany/Austrai/Switzelrand/Czech Republic/Hungary (and most other central European countries) just reserve seats with the railway you are travelling on/
For France/Italy/ Spain ->? Rail Europe.

The leg in question will be from FRance to Switzerland. Specifically, when i go to book the trip for myself, how do I handle booking for a companion without an interrail pass?

book on rail Europe. Add two travellers. indicate on has Interrail.
