Booking British Airways Companion Fare for an Open Jaw Ticket

My husband has a Companion Pass that will expire in a few months.

We want to go Business Class on an Open Jaw ticket.

The Companion Pass dates available for round trips (flying into and out of the same Italian city) for spring, 2023, are disappearing quickly. With Avios, and the Companion Pass, the two Business Class fares are reasonable (in our opinion. ). The full cash price is crazy expensive right now.

We cannot figure out any way to book an open jaw ticket by ourselves online. We read that if one calls , BA can book the open jaw ticket, but the BA call lines are constantly busy, even when we use the Silver Club #. The recorded instruction is NOT to try to call them if you're not flying this month.

There may be a better use of Avios, but we have been frustrated in using them. We haven't been able to get upgrades , and the cancelation policy for using them for hotels is harsh. We have decided using them this way is acceptable.

Any insights or helpful info to share? Is there a work-around to book open jar? This Forum never lets me down! Thx so much.

Never mind, my husband was awake around 4 am today and the phone call went thru- we have Italy 2023 booked!

Pat, good to hear. There's something about the term "open jaw" that freaks me out a bit. Can't they give it a more palatable name?

Maybe you can try out a new term- any ideas? :)

The airlines all seem to be using the tem "multi-city' these days. It's primarily on this forum that I see references to "open-jaw" flights. I think it would be best to avoid that terminology when responding to inquiries from new travelers. Why confuse them with phrasing they are unlikely to encounter when they start shopping for airline tickets?
