I’m planning on visiting Bologna area in September for 2-3 days, then on to Swiss Alps.
We usually go to Switzerland every year, so very familiar with that leg of the trip . We usually add a new destination along with Switzerland.
I’m looking to take the fastest train from either Bologna or Milan to get to Lauterbrunnen.
Quickest I see is 5-6 hours
Anyone who has done this ?
Any advice much appreciated !
That would be a Freccia train from Bologna Centrale to Milano Centrale, then an EC train to Spiez, then local trains from there to Interlaken Ost, then to Lauterbrunnen.
Depends on if this trip is early September or late September. Often in early September, there may still be ongoing summer construction projects that slow you down. They are usually complete by the 2nd weekend in September.
Look at www.sbb.ch and you will see the options. Keep in mind that all the schedules for September might not be published yet, so look at the options the next week.
