Greetings fellow travelers. We’ll be traveling to Lucerne with our first class global pass in October. We’d like to take the boat to Fluelen and then the Gotthard panorama train to Lugano. Where to go to get reservations for the boat trip? Preferably in person since I haven’t had luck navigating the online options. Are reservations required for either boat or train?

You do not need reservations for the boat, just the train. And actually seat reservations are not mandatory ( but well advised). You do need to pay a 16 CHF supplement).
Have you seen the instructions on the Gotthard Panorama Express website?
Open the buttons listed as Supplement and Booking.

Thanks Lola, very helpful. I’m thinking I’ll reserve the train a few days before since ‘itinerary shift’ would preclude an advance booking. I’m hoping the off season will not jeopardize availability.

What is your travel date in October? The special train stops running after 20 October, and never on Mondays.
But you can always put together the same route on regional trains; there will just be one or more intermediate stops.

Current itinerary has us taking this leg on Saturday the 5th. Hopefully, the weekend won’t be more challenging reserving a seat.
