Ok , I'll bite. What are bile beans?
On the RS home page, the photo for Travel Forums shows a guy in front of a sign for Bile Beans. Apparently they keep you healthy bright eyed and slim. Who knew???
I crack up laughing every time I see this.

What a hoot, Judy!
But I want me some, whatever the heck they are. The long winter did serious damage to my waistline!
Hahaha!! I AM the bean queen and had not heard of these.

Somehow I missed the ghost sign the last time I was in York. This should definitely be on the RS walking tour, hahaha!!
The sign in York is not any sort of "ghost" - at least it wasn't when we were there 2 years ago. It looked freshly painted, clear as a bell, and pretty hard to miss. Walk the walls in York and you should see it. A lot of us have the same picture.
I'll add that, while my health is pretty good, I have to admit my eyesight isn't what it used to be, and I could stand to drop a few pounds/kilos...I attribute that to not keeping up with my nightly requirement of you-know-what.
Thinking I need me some of those beans! I could stand to lose many lbs!!
HAHA
i saw that and was curious like you judy. i'm still laughing since i could use some.
The ""Bile Bean March": "a bold, spirited composition"
Love it! 😂
"Ghost sign" doesn't necessarily mean run-down, it just means a sign for a defunct business that stays up due to inertia or deliberate historical preservation.
