I will need to do some bicycling for day or two during our trip to France with some pretty avid cyclists so it will likely be intense. Like to travel with only one pair shoes. Obviously click in units are out. Does anyone have recommendations for a shoes that could work for biking and walking?
Sorry I don't have any suggestions for a specific brand of shoes. Maybe you could call your Podiatrist's Office or ask at a local Biking Club or Shop?
Are you taking your own bike or hiring one? Maybe they sell biking footware there as well? You could purchase a new pair and only have to carry them home?
Keen has a new shoe that has a place for cleats for riding!! They are called "Commuter" They look like a regular pair of Keen, but you can screw in your cleats to the sole! Best of both worlds.
Check out their website: www.keenfootwear.com
I'll bet you can find a dealer that has them....probably www.zappos.com They carry every single shoe made by every brand.
keep in mind that Keen run about 1/2 size small. so order up!
These sandals would be fine for cities, and for your biking.
The mountain bike style of bike shoes look and walk more like regular shoes but allow you to click in. I would probably take a pair of trail running shoes and just go with the old style toe cages rather than pack a specialized shoe for a couple of rides.
