Hi, all!
We have a week-ish between Gimmelwald and Paris. Looking for something in the region that would have some variety of location and feel. Family of 4, children are teenager/young adult, travelling by train (no car). What are places in the region that you found interesting? We like hiking, exploring cities, being adventurous. Thanks!

Basel has a paper making museum and a toy museum among others, thinking of the kiddoes. Also a ferry powered only by the flow of the river, good fun. And a place where 3 countries touch and you can, for those used to playing Twister put one hand/foot in all 3 at a time.

I also recommend the Strasbourg area. You can travel by train/bus to lots of lovely places: Colmar, & surrounding villages, Gengenbach, Obernai.
