I will be in EUR in May 2025 and will be finishing in Italy, in Cinque Terre and want to go to Amsterdam next, for 3 nights. I would love to do a train, but my research so far makes it look as if that would involve many train changes, so may be best just book an Easy Jet flight? Looking for advice.
A train will take over 15 hours and, yes, multiple changes.
Or fly on one of the nonstop flights out of Pisa that take around 2 hours.
Transavia Airline out of Pisa. They're a Dutch budget airline.

totally agree with CJean about catching a flight from pisa. pack light, check flights and know their luggage rules. also check in to hotels are usually 2-4pm, check out is 10-11am unless arrangement made ahead of time for early check in or late check out. do they have bags storage till you can check in, most do even though things have changed with so many people are traveling and amsterdam is a very busy city seems all the time. be careful of all the bikes bikes bikes.
we stayed in a house boat (bookahouseboat.com) for 6 nights down near the jordaan area (amsterdam.info)
don't know where you're flying from or to (USA), are you flying back from amsterdam and not back tracking? do a multi-city flight (into one city and out from another without adding you inter europe flight.
know that it's tulip season mid april to mid may, look at dates if you're there and buy tickets early (tulipfestivalamsterdam.com)
wear comfy shoes, lots of walking and tram rides. take a canal cruise daytime and night time, rembrantplein square is a fun place with many shops, restaurants, bars, some craft people selling their goods, we found a pedicab to take us around the area and to the red light district. gorgeous canal during daytime and crazy at night, ended up in a stand up only bar with live music with band playing "sweet caroline" with the patrons including us singing off key, it was so much fun with lots of laughing.
any other info or ideas, just ask. i have a few options you can check out but it's your decision. you don't say what you're really interested in, are you by yourself or how many others?
you'll enjoy amsterdam, lots to do and see, been there twice. good luck and enjoy
aloha
EasyJet also flies PSA to AMS.
Thanks for the responses. Already have my round trip from US booked, doing multiple cities as my arrival will be different than returning from Netherlands. So that’s not an issue and already have a hotel booked in Am.
I’m staying in Monterosso al mare as last stop in Italia and looks like a challenge to get from there to Pisa or Genoa which both look like good options for flights to Amsterdam.
Suggestions?
Go to Pisa or Genoa to stay the night before the flight to Amsterdam, or book a late evening flight to Amsterdam from Pisa if you don't mind arriving very late.
Monterosso to PSA, per google maps, is a 90 minute process; to GOA is 2.5 hours and has more changes enroute.
I would make Pisa my 1st choice.

Au contraire. Monterosso to the Pisa airport is as easy as catching the train to Pisa Centrale, then changing to the train to the airport. Or taking the alternate train, which has a change in La Spezia before Pisa Centrale and the Airport.
Genoa would likely take an extra hour and an extra change. Given the 2, Pisa is easier.
