Best way to ship luggage home?

My daughter is on a Moroccan study abroad program. She's spending two weeks after school is over with her exchange sister in the Netherlands. The trip from Morocco to Holland hasn't been firmed up yet, but she'll probably end up on a RyanAir flight from Fez to Brussels. She was at the 50 lb limit for checked luggage on her outbound flight and has already picked up some "must have" items in Granada (she totally ignored my advice to not shop on this trip!). I know the regional airlines are more strict on luggage weight so we're wondering about the possibility of sending her duffle bag home from Morocco. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll check on the slow boat option.

FedEx and UPS are in all the major cities of Morocco, EXCEPT Fez, as luck would have it.

Shipping anything back to the states is an expensive if not very expensive activity. But you can check it your self. Go to any of the shipping companies' web sites and they will have a way to estimate the cost. Or another option is to fill a box of "must not have" items and trust it to the local postal system. Unfortunately RyanAir is the most strict of the lot. They make a lot of money from people like your daughter.

Another option to think about is just leaving the excess there and donating them. My daughters were so sick of what they wore after 6 months' in the EU they gave most of there clothes away before coming home.

Jerry--I think you've nailed it my friend. If I know my daughter, she'll have quite an attachment to Morocco and the people there by the time she has to leave. Donating clothing would strike her as an excellent way to give something back.

Thanks for that very insightful idea.
