Ok folks,
Which small, digital travel alarm clock works the best? I need one that will actually wake me up. I'm heading off to Italy in 8 days!
Thanks!

Hi Hazel,
Speaking for myself, I like this little number from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Small, loud enough to hear, easily set and re-set, etc.

Happy Trails!
I like the one from LL Bean. Large numbers, it lights up when you just press it back against the base (instead of having to fumble for a button in the dark), and also gives the room temperature.
If your bring a cell phone along, many phones have an alarm clock feature. If you're bringing along a laptop, you can also use it to wake you up.
It's not a digital clock, but I like the cheap little Indiglo models that Timex makes.
I use a little Westclox that I got at Target. It's not actually a travel alarm, but it's very small (3.5 x 2.5 x 1) and easy to use. It even has a snooze alarm and backlight. And the best part is that they only cost about $4.00.
It sounds posh, but it wasn't expensive. I have a Seiko radio clock, but you can set it manually too. I like it because it is very easy to set the alarm and to change time zones. It sits up well on a table and folds up nicely.
Hi Hazel,
Yet another use for the Ipod.....most have an alarm clock feature which is great because it reduces the number of gadgets to travel with.

I made a special trip to LL Bean just to get their travel alarm. It's perfect.
My vote is for my cell phone (iPhone) it works perfectly as an alarm clock. I don't travel with a clock anymore, one less item to take. I keep my phone charged (plug it in overnight to charge for the next day)
You can make the ringer pretty loud.
I'll add another recommendation to the LL Bean alarm clock (nightfinder II model). It is a little bigger than some travel alarms, but it is the easiest to operate travel alarm that I have had (and I have had many over the years). 1) Very easy to set 2) Tap it once and it is backlit with a soft blue so you can easily check the time in the dark 3) Even shows the temperature.
Since I don't have any more electrical sockets to plug in any more devices, I use my cellphone as my alarm clock. Pretty good, since I programmed the ringtones from the songs of my favourite artist. =)
Less room in the suitcase and saves you $ from buying a clock.
