Going to visit Europe at the end of May (starting in Paris and ending in Rome).
I'm looking for recommended shoes to wear there.

Lots of options. Try Rockport, New Balance for athletic style. Also, men's Ecco are great.
Best judge of what is good for you is what fits and feels good with great arch support and room for your feet to swell during the day.
You might consider a leather sandal (depending on your age) for the warmer temps in Rome end of May into June.
Here you can find Naot or other cork based footwear. Or, go with Chaco or Teva for sportier footwear.
If you are more stylish, check into a fisherman's style sandal, just like the European's wear.

Look into Propet. They're very reasonable and have a variety of styles, but regardless of style, they're billed as "walkers."
I have a pair I recently bought that are slip-ons, very stylish, very comfortable and (important for air travel because of security) easy to take off and put on.
