Best of Adriatic-RS

This looks like an interesting tour of Rick's, but I find the lengthy time on the bus a drawback. Has anyone taken this tour? Comments about the amount of time on the bus.
Thanks!

You should also post your question under one of the countries you are visiting, You may get more responses on that section. I have not been on the Adriatic tour. But, I have been on two of RS bus tours, France and Ireland and it may seem like a lengthy time on the bus, but they do stop for lunch and bathroom breaks. Also they stop in nice towns ( which is not listed) and you are able to see more than you think you were going to see. It really is not too bad, being on the bus as I said, you do stop along the way so it sounds longer than it really is because of the nice stops in different towns. They don't drive straight thru. I have been on three bus tours ( with another company years ago) and they did not stop and it was painful. RS bus tours are not painful and the stops are a lot of fun.
I would not let the bus time deter you from going or thinking it will be a drawback. It also is a good way to talk to other tour members, listen to music and get much needed sleep. Go and have a great time.

We were on the Best of Adriatics Tour just this last September. It was spectacular. Bus never goes more than two hours without stopping, visiting some towns on the way. With R.S. I did Turkey, Paris and Heart of France. The Adriatics Tour was the best. Don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers.

I've not been on the Adriatic tour, but on the Heart of Italy tour, although we had no long bus portions the times we were on the bus the guide used for history, geography, socio-cultural and language lessons. Does that sound boring?? Oh my goodness, it was definitely NOT!

Ann & Ilja: Thank you both for your responses.
I loved the Villiage Italy tour, but the bus was about half the amount of time as the Adriatic. There are several consecutive days w/ 4-6 hours on the bus. Glad to hear there are frequent stops.
I tend to enjoy small villages with fewer crowds than the big city tours. Sounds like this might work!

I took the Turkey in 13 Days tour which had a lot of bus time (evern 4-6 hour stretches). I don't think anyone on the tour was unhappy. There was plenty of room to spread out on the bus, and to seat-hop, which gave the group a lot of "face-time." Our (wonderful) guide used some of the travel time to tell us about our next stop, or the country, or lots of Q&A. The scenery was nice and it also gave many of us time to catch up on photo editing, diary-writing, or napping. We made frequent stops for food, bathrooms, and even a point of interest.

My boyfriend and I took this tour last year and I would say the only stretch that seemed lengthy was driving through the Alps in the day that you arrive in the Soca River Valley. The scenery was really beautiful though. Overall I wouldn't say that it was too much bus time. It's nice to catch up on sleep or a book during those parts of the tour.

We took the Best of Adriatic Tour last summer. The amount of bus time did not have a negative impact on our appreciation of that tour. As others have said, the bus stops about every two hours for bathroom breaks and often stops at sights along the way when there is a longer day on the bus. We have taken 11 RS tours (soon to be #12-Greece in May) and have never had a problem with time on the bus. On almost every one of those tours, the bus had twice as many seats as tour members so everyone could have two seats if they wanted although some couples always sit together. At my size, 6'3", I enjoy having two seats some of the time. There was more walking on this tour than on some of the others we have taken so be sure to get in shape should you decide to go on this tour.
