Best deal on Osprey Porter 46 backpack?

I'm looking to buy 2 Osprey Porter 46 backpacks, so I'm hoping to get them for less than regular price ($99). Anyone know of a site or store with a sale, coupon code, etc?

hi, i got mine from REI. if youre a member you get dividens and if i remember correctly (iirc) it was waaay better than my CD at my credit union. they just had a sale too. i dont shop there enough to know when the sales are since i just stumbled on the one last week but i do know they have them more than once per year. maybe someone will chime in here on their sales and how often they have them. you can always call too since they are always sooooo helpful. you may want to check Amazon and see what comes up there. just an for your info (fyi), i have one and i love it. i dont care for wheeled luggage and so i was really happy to find it since almost everything made has wheels on it now. i thought i was going to have to make one again. happy trails.

Check out ebay to see if there are some used but in excellent condition Osprey packs. I was able to get mine for $80 but that was 4 years ago, on sale at moose something.

As mentioned earlier, a great place to get a backpack is the members only REI garage sale (only take 20$ to be a member). In CO, the garage sales are held on the last Saturday of every month. Keep in mind that the equipment will vary based on the seasons. Hence, there are a lot more backpacks during the summer months heading into fall, v/s the current timeframe. However, if you have your heart set on a particular type of pack, then the chances of you finding the exact item at a garage sale would probably be slim.

These days $99 is not a lot of money to pay for a good bag.

hi again, good luck finding any "less" price. if you cant find them in a store locally, look for someone to pay for shipping which can be expensive. happy trails.

I think Osprey must have a "no sale" clause with their retailers because I have never seen them on sale (REI, eBags, or elsewhere). I watched prices a long time and gave up on them, choosing instead an eBags weekender-type bag that suits me fine.

CL is correct. Osprey, like numerous other manufacturers, do not allow retailers to "discount" their bags except during inventory reductions. (This usually happens when a new model is being introduced and they want to get rid of the old ones.) Since the Osprey Porter 46 is a popular bag, don't expect to see discounts. If you do see one, jump on it. The other option you have is to purchase from a retailer that offers free shipping and either money back or credit towards future purchases. As an example, if you order via Ebags, and join their Rewards Club, you'll get 5% of your purchase in reward points. Each reward point is worth $1 in future purchases. So a $100 bag will get you 5 reward points or $5 towards a future purchase.
