Best Christmas Markets after Christmas Day??

Hi all:

We traveled to the European Christmas markets a few years ago and would like to do that again this year! Due to high school schedules, we can't leave until Dec 19 or 20... I know most German traditional markets close up by Christmas Eve, but I know others in some places stay open after... (ex: we went to ones in Prague and Berlin later)... we will probably go Dec. 20 - Jan. 3 or so..

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to see some markets after Christmas day? Thinking of maybe basing in Paris and day tripping out a couple times (seems some French ones open later).... or....

Suggestions please? Or even your favorites for the few precious days we will have pre-Christmas!?

Thanks!!
Kim

Hello, in Spain we celebrate more the three Kings day (Jan 6), thusly you will find most of our Christmas Markets and Nativity Dioramas are still up after Dec. 20. For example, in Barcelona the Saint Lucia Market is still up until Dec 23. This is our oldest Christmas Market in Barcelona, dating to the 1700s. You will find most of our major towns and cities have Christmas markets, in Madrid for example they last until Dec 31, Granada until Jan 6. Our Christmas market tradition is a little know part of our culture.

Here are some English languages article about some of our Christmas Markets in Spain: https://www.spain.info/enUS/reportajes-portales/estadosunidos/magical-spain-christmas-markets.html

I have read that the Vienna markets are open until New Year's Eve, which is a big celebration in that city.
Safe travels!

Definitely Vienna -- we plan to be there for New Years Eve waltzing in the streets. Multiple markets.
