Best central hotel for September stay in Dublin

Doing a week-long tour in September 2010 from Dublin through SW and W Ireland and back again. Because the tour is 7 full days, would like to stay in Central Dublin near Tourist Info center the Saturday night before and after the tour.

Have run into issues of Saturday night markups and minimum stay of two nights. So far Rick's recommendations of the Harding Hotel and Fleet Street Temple Bar Hotel seem like good choices at 69 Euros for a single. Any other possibilities come to mind, or has anyone stayed at either of these hotels?

Thank you for any recommendations.

You might also look at the Leeson Inn Downtown in Dublin. Their rates start at 55 Euro, and they offer a 10% discount if you stay at least two nights.

We stayed at the Harding Hotel - room was nice, people friendly, but we were above the pub and beer garden and even ear plugs did not help!!

Checked out the Leeson Inn Downtown, looks like a good backup at 79 Euros for Sat night, on the other side of St. Stephen's Green, but still pretty close in. (And another reminder next trip to Dublin to plan on staying during the week since hotels are so much cheaper then.)

Thanks as well for the heads-up about pub noise with the Harding Hotel. I'll make sure to request a quiet room and take ear plugs as a backup:>.

We spent a couple of nights last April at the Drury Court Hotel in Dublin. It’s nothing fancy, but it was clean and functional. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rate included a big breakfast. The hotel is in a good location, we walked to Trinity College and the Temple Bar. We found it on hotels.com.

Have a great trip.
