Berlin, Vienna, Prague, and Budapest

Those are the 4 cities I really want to see. I have about 11 days for the trip. My problem is I can’t seem to figure out an order to do them in so I can do it as cheaply and efficiently as possible. I’m a student in Madrid right now so I want to try and fly as close as possible/add a city or something if it helps.

Any tips or ideas for this?

Hi,

Drop Prague, keep Berlin. Stick with no more than three cities. With Budapest and Berlin there is night train connection, same with Berlin and Vienna. You squeeze out another day using the night train option.

11 days is barely enough for Budapest/Vienna/Prague. Less is more.

When I read your title, I hoped that you were going to say that you had at least 16 days minimum.

When are you travelling? 11 days means 10 nights, so I would suggest that you drop one city. My favourite on your list is Berlin, which merits at least 5 full days there. Personally, I would drop Vienna, but see which best fit your tight schedule.

Check out rome2rio.com for route options. Look at seat61.com for rail options. You are going to lose half a day travelling between places door to door no matter how you travel.

The budget airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair are best value booked 6+ months out. Travel Tuesday to Thursday for the best prices.

Listen to James saying “listen to Chani”.

Depending on your travel dates ...
Iberia offers a late morning flight to Prague.
Then train to Vienna and on to Budapest.
Wizz offers a late afternoon return flight from Budapest.
