I haven’t gone from Berlin to Copenhagen, so I can’t say. But this past fall we flew from Copenhagen to Norway on Norwegian Air. Fast and inexpensive.
Technically, we flew to Trondheim, and after several days flew from Trondheim to Bergen. Some of their flights from Copenhagen to Bergen will include a transfer at the Oslo airport, and others are direct, but either can get you there efficiently and inexpensively. Check out their pricing for various baggage plans.
Well, I just looked, and Norwegian actually serves the Berlin-Brandenburg airport, so you could also use them to fly Berlin to Copenhagen. As with Bergen flights, some are direct, and some involve a transfer at Oslo.
Thank you! This helps.
Please define efficient ... cost efficient, time efficient, environmental efficient ...
Copenhagen:
Bergen: direct flight CPH - BGO with Norwegian, alternatively DFDS ferry Copenhagen - Oslo and scenic train to Bergen with https://www.vy.no/
The train from Berlin to Copenhagen will take seven hours with one change in Hamburg.
From Copenhagen to Bergen, the fastest way is flying. Train will take all day and then some.
Alternately, you could take the overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo, then train to Bergen. Or better yet, travel the Norway in a Nutshell route from Oslo to Bergen.
Two years ago, I took the train from Copenhagen to Berlin, and I thought it was a relatively easy and quick way to get there. It did take around 7 to 8 hours, And you will change trains in Hamburg. But it’s sometimes nice, I think, to just relax on a train, rather than dealing with an airport. I like it, at any rate. And if you book it early enough, it’s not that expensive.
Thank you all for your advice!
By efficient I mean cost efficient and time efficient. I presume flying is not environmentally efficient. I'm sure it's the fastest way, but I am thinking train and boat rather than plane.
Thanks, Tom!
