I’m thinking about planning a trip to Belgrade the first week of November when my kids have off school (in Ireland). Anyone know if this is an ok time to go? Any suggestions on another city we can see in a week? We don’t mind cold just hoping things will be open and yours will still be going? Thanks in advance!
You'll be fine that time of year. It's still not so cold in November. You should also head to Banja Luka.
Beograd is a great place to stay. We stayed at Xotel Moskva for $159/night in 2019. Great place to stay. Beograd is a 3 hr train ride from Zagreb. Novi Sad is a short drive. Djani (short, thin, male) in TI might be able to help you.
Ljubljana is another great place to consider. We just returned from the Best of the Adriatic tour and that was my favorite city.
Ljubljana would be another 3 hours on train from Zagreb. So it's in the area, on the same train line.
In the Balkans, you often need to do bus instead of train.
